This podcast gives you an insight into Manchester’s thriving theatre scene. It includes interviews with many of the most exciting people currently working in Manchester, from all parts of the industry. Although we are constantly told about the most exciting pieces of work going on in London, it’s much harder to get a real sense of the personalities, companies and venues active in Manchester. From actors and directors, to funders and venue managers, we aim to capture the whole of the city’s theatre ecology and put it within your reach, so you can learn more about the people living and making work in Manchester right now.
Joe Gilmour-Rees is a theatre director, from Warrington, just outside of Manchester. He regularly works with the Royal Exchange, the Octagon Theatre Bolton, and the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
Sophie graduated from Manchester School of Theatre in 2015 and has since worked as an actor and photographer in and around the North West. She has recently devised work and performed at theatres including HOME, Hope Mill Theatre and 53Two.
